Big cherry nose. Gritty. Tannins bold, yet mellowed.

Apr 21st, 2019This is another typical fruity, rich and bold Napa Cabernet. Showing black fruits with light earth notes and chocolates. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Still young and needs a couple of years in the bottle to mature properly.
Medium plus on the finish with firm tannins.
Good by itself or with food. Needs an hour to open up properly and show the tannins.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
$36.

Jammy jam! Very accessible at a young age, fruit is quite generous.

Nov 25th, 2017Here is my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time it's a wonderful Napa Cab.
Dark inky in color with a short purple rim. Teeth staining color.
Nice nose with black currants, blackberries, cherries, vanilla bean, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, peppermint, light coffee, mocha, tobacco, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Full bodied and velvety, with long legs and medium plus acidity.
Extremely dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cranberries, wood, light vanilla, bitter herbs, tobacco, vegetables, alcohol, earth, coffee, dark chocolates and peppercorn.
Medium plus in finish with green, angular tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a wonderful Napa Cabernet, however, it is not a typical one. Not fully balanced yet, and needs 3 to 5 years to mature and soften up.
Shows nice complexity, but the tannins are too big and aggressive, right now. (I still enjoy it). This will be awesome in a few years.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly.
I paired it with hard cheeses, olives and dried fruits.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
