Tasting of nine 1996 Cabernets, Merlots and Bordeaux blends from California, Bordeaux and Australia. Sadly our bottle was corked but others had the good bottle liked it so score reflects that.

Delicious. Deep purple red. Black cherry and currants. Sort of like Crimson and Clover...

Really nice balanced acidity. Still showing great rich fruit and firm hillside tannins.

This wine is delicious. Let it open up for an hour. I really like pride wines.

Deep ruby red with garnet edges. Strong nose, can smell a couple inches from the glass. Layered in tertiary notes like a damp forest floor, damp leaves, woody and a touch dirty. Additional layers of violet, dark cocoa, tobacco leaves and a touch of herbs. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Well integrated and smooth mouthfeel. A touch of earthiness on the palate with tobacco and black cherries. Medium finish. Drink now.

A little tight, but flavors of blackberry preserves, tinder and leather

Had near the end, but a solid way to cap the evening.

2002 vintage. Definitely a few years past peak, this is showing notes of advanced age. That said its still drinking well in the Pride style. Drink em if you got em -- its all down hill from here. Wish I'd have drank this 5years ago...

Way better than I imagined. This one is aging well.
