Presqu'ile Vineyard Chardonnay

Balanced, apple, pear, spice, round, nice acid.

Pale lemon with stone and tropical fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and lemon citrus with a light floral spice tone. Lively acidity, medium finish ending with fruit, citrus and spice.

Purchased without my usual research, and that may have been an error.
The finish departs off on a tangent, leaving your palate with a slight bitter note. All other elements are fine. Wifey likes it more than I do.

Day 2 and I need to consume a small portion of humble pie. Increased my score from 89 to 91. Much better today. Now warm, soft and very approachable. It’s a buy 😉

Rediscovering California whites - particularly the restrained style of winemaking prompted by westerly vineyards situated on cool current influence. Drinks like a burgundy with dollops of golden apple, Anjou pear, ripe peach, fennel, electric acid leading to a mint-laden finish on a medium frame. Lovely with scallops and meaty oysters, easy to sip with Marcona almonds or alone

Crisp with racy minerality and nice acidity. Low oak.

Un Chardonnay Californien de la vallée de Santa Maria 2016 qui ne fait pas trop “Américain super boisé” justement, rien de super complexe mais assez frais, une acidité moyenne sans que ce ne soit trop riche ou trop lourd. 89-90

A nice Chardonnay 2016 from Presqu’Ile winery in Santa Maria Ca, nothing complex but fresh and very enjoyable.

Chard aromas. The acidity is backward at first and then it opens up to white peach nd slight honeydew scents and gets more tension to go along the roundness and freshness, pretty good and nice wine without being great, better then the first one drank a few months back. Don’t think it is built for the long haul.

Assez Chardo au nez. Tension en retrait au départ, s’ouvre un peu sur de la pêche blanche, melon, assez rond et frais, c’st bien sans être grand, mieux aimé que la 1ere bouteille bue il y a quelques mois. 89-90

Slightly funky nose at first and then shifts to more classic Chard aromas. The acidity is backward at first and then it opens up and gets more tension to go along the nice roundness and freshness, pretty good balance and nice wine without being great. 88-89

Nez un peu bizarre à l’ouverture mais cela s’estompe sur des arômes classiques de Chardo. La tension est un peu en retrait au départ mais avec de l’air l’acidité se montre plus présente pour en faire un bel ensemble, ouvert, assez rond et frais, rien d’exceptionnel mais très bien.

Light on the aroma...hint of pear. Very flavorful for a Chardonnay.
