A blend of about 40 crus from the Champagne region, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and about one-third Chardonnay, aged for almost 3 years. Fresh vibrant champagne, fruit/floral bouquet, w/chalky minerals. Fine bubbles, nice mousse, showing quality. Outstanding rich flavors of peach, lemon and honey, well balanced, good structure, creamy. Finish with yeast & mineral notes that lingered. Very consistent quality.

This bottle has some age on it as evinced by the deep gold color and the quickly dissipating mousse. Toasty brioche and dried apples on the nose, echoed on the rich palate. Tiny bubbles enhance the still firm acidity making this an excellent companion to… pork ribs! Happy Champagne Day, all!

I believe this half bottle is from an older lot than Brut Royal I have tasted recently... And that is a good thing. Toasty, rich big house stuff.

Silver Brut, our reward after 116 steps down to the cellar and then again on our way out. Well earned.
