Brut Rosé Royal Champagne Blend

Ah us rosé Champagne, my true true love. This one is plush and mouth filling. Along with red fruits and herbs I get a but of a seashell vibe. Toasty finish, toast to that. — 3 months ago

Brut Apanage Champagne Blend

Pale rosy straw gold. Fine bubbles and quickly dissipating white mousse. White cherry, green apple, and lightly toasted brioche on the nose and scintillating medium palate. Firm acidity; lengthy finish. Leaner than the Brut Royal, but still on the rich side. Pommery’s “gastronomic” Brut always satisfies and is a great match for almost anything. I’m having mine with teriyaki black pepper salmon and the lemon bars that follow as dessert. Drink it when you buy it. — 2 months ago

Brut Champagne Blend

Not my preferred style of champagne. After giving it some air it got better over time — 17 days ago

Cuvée Louise Brut Champagne Blend 2004

An exceedingly pretty old gold color in the glass with shy green tinges. A dearth of fine, pristine bubbles. The nose here is so alluring, so delectable. Lemon curd and honey brioche bread. Vanilla custard and orange shavings. There’s a nice element of smoke that begins to permeate after it warms up. Whiffs of red fruits appear after even more time. Really really nice.

Prestige cuvées are always so fun to open, and it’s not just about the champagne. It’s about the occasion, the drama, the mood, the romance, and everything else. 60/40 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Cuvée Louise is so indicative of the Pommery style. The dosage a bit higher than what many of us are now accustomed to but the wine still shows signs of tension because of the impeccable structure and balance.

This is a warm champagne, one that provides comfort. But it also manages to thrill. Full bodied and showing it’s maturity in a very good way. Caramel and soft butter in the mouth along with candied apples and butterscotch. Biscuits, toffee, and melon. The finish is long and rich. Delightful.

Louis Pommery Brut Methode Champenoise

NOSE: my first whiff was apple-juicy, but that receded … now it’s triple creme cheese, apricot, pear, mild white toast, lemon. Some minerals. Smells good!

TASTE: immediately reminiscent of champagne - toasty. Bitter almond. Less fruit than the nose for sure. I prefer more citrus, but very good. 90-91.

Louis Pommery

England Brut Chardonnay Blend

We popped this British beauty to help celebrate a friends birthday from afar and boy was it a delight to drink.

We were kindly sent this sample bottle from Pommery to help celebrate their first British sparkling wine! They’re the first Champagne house to produce an English fizz and wow, I was impressed!

In fact I’d drink it over a few of the big brand NV Champagnes. That’s how well it went down! At approximately $89 a pop I definitely would expect that.

The grapes 🍇 are grown in Hampshire, Southern England and it’s made from the classic champagne grapes with the majority being Chardonnay. It’s Pommery in style from English terroir.

In the glass it’s a brilliant morning sunshine hue. The nose is super fresh with yellow orchard fruits and citrus however it also made me think of vanilla honey on crumpets. The palate is smooth and perfectly rounded. My oh my it’s divine.

All opinions are my own. Drink what you enjoy!
