Outstanding QPR for this #traderjoes #brunellodimontalcino. Earthy cherry, leather and forest floor nose; palate - nice balance and fine tannins. No need to be profound on this price point and the perfect bottle for a casual Hoboken BYOB pizzeria. 🍕

I preferred the 2018, but still very good, still the clear bitter chocolate etc— just not the screaming deal the last bottle was. Seems a little more muted and anonymous (maybe it needs age or more air). 91.

NOSE: raspberry leaf, cherry, crayola …chlorophyll…cocoa.

TASTE: silky, bitter chocolate, tobacco, earth, savoury spice, cinnamon — fruit is black cherry and a little currant — some vanilla/banana also. Minerals. Slightly less acidity than I expected for a Brunello (though not flabby at all) — silky. Surprisingly excellent, TJ’s is on a roll — superb deal. 93.

Medium garnet hue. Aromas of cherry, earthy, licorice, mushroom, sage. Medium body, with medium tannins and plus acidity. Soft and silky on the palate. Lengthy finish. Not complex, but very balanced and easy drinking.
