Oct 16th, 2021This wine stood out because it is the first of the 2010 vintage I’ve tried that was less satisfying. Nose has less fruit and more complex aromas and is elegant, round, and perfumed; taste is unexceptional and the wine has a poor structure with low acids and coarse tannins, although the finish is quite long. I expected more. 7000 bottles produced in old French barriques.

Jul 18th, 2019Very balanced and more fruit-forward than I expected from an Italian wine. It was quite nice and paired very well with pasta.

Nov 15th, 2017Just hitting this after about a three hour decant, and I can already confirm that's not enough time. Way sexy brown-red color, like really awesome. Nose is almost Barolo-like, stewed red fruit with the raisin style nose. I'll get more into notes later once the bottom has proper air...this could be tomorrow!
Back to it after 48 hrs... Nose is a little closed, but about the same. Palate is more expressive today, dried cherry with mid-level tannins, but still does not appear ready. We'll get back to this in +24 hrs in hopes of betterment.

Every once and while something special comes along. Your toes start tingling and you know you're in for a good ride. This delivers all the things you want in a brunello. Not many words. Divine.

After a thorough decant and paired with some rather fatty lamb chops & some rocking homemade pesto, I'm still waiting for things to come together. Still waiting for what I spent to come along but am watching the doubt continue to fill the glass. Underwhelmed. Disappointed. This is an overrated wine that costs about 2.5 times what it's worth.
