This was dynamite and fun. Big 3L, shared amongst friends all weekend each nite after a day of drinking razor acids white at FLX. Dried fruits, extremely floral, black tea, leather, sweet/sour cherries, sandalwood, dried leaves..tannins smooth but clearly there and high acid to wash it away. Changed every nite..delicious!

From 3L with a river walk view. This unraveled and shed tannin as the night progressed. Reluctant fresh cut violets and crushed rock bouquet, bright cherry tobacco, fig newton and boysenberry palette, velvety smooth and compact bold mid palate and by night’s end an especially long compelling finish. This is likely ready on pop from 750 but has 10-15 years plus of prime drinking window.

Just entering its window of drink ability but still needs much air. Tomato leaf, tar, roses, strawberry. A minty edge to the finish. Surprisingly plush for an 01

Remembering Aldo Conterno's love of Piemonte, his stories and laugh--and 1950s American English. He served in the Korean War. A great wine from a great man.
