Chardonnay from Sicily. Impressive concentration and mineral energy.

This is opulent, a little candied, with honey and green tea, a bit waxy, with a formidable texture and lot of intrigue on the palate. Prominent oak but it works overall.

Apple, tangerine, egg custard, full mouth feel. Long finish. This one is tasting great and will only get better with time

Another Wednesday Wine Committee in the books. Great hosting by @Bill Makens . 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine all served blind.

Sicilian Chardonnay. That’s a first for me. Great depth and complexity to this wine. Again, didn’t pick up a lot of oak...fruit really shines. Juicy fruit, clove, banana bread and puréed pineapple on the nose with a very round and fruit driven profile. My guess was Margaret River chardonnay from Australia. Seemed like a dead ringer. Quite enjoyable.

Vintage 2017 / expressive smell with butter and pear, quite ‘fat’. Bitters in taste and long aftertaste.

Rich, fruity, good minerality. A food friendly, sophisticated Chard from Sicily.

Decadent and fabulous. Shame on the trade people that dismiss this because it's well known.

Touch of H2S on opening. Glycerol - still with Grapefruit notes and still with a future. Some stone fruit notes on palate. Oak is totally integrated at 9 years (at that time 66 weeks ago).

Catching up on notes from our trip to Sicily 66 weeks ago. A modern western take on Chardonnay. Fermented in Barriques for 10 months - 50% New and 50% Used. Vanilla Oak aromas. Rich but taut on the Medium + palate.
