Philip Togni Vineyard
Tanbark Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Truly one of my favorite second labels. Opened up nicely on second evening. So much more life in these. I would continue to hold 2-4 years.

Oct 4th, 2021Beautiful Napa Cab presents as a classic Bordeaux. Understated elegance. Silky smooth mouthfeel with smooth tannins. Lengthy finish. Second label - no way! This is a beautiful wine with a great QPR. I decanted 3 hours. Opened up slowly. Has potential to age 10 to 15 years. I love Phillip Togni wines.

Jan 19th, 2020More of this please. Beautiful bottle. Deep red color. Full bodied. Dark red fruit. Really started to shine after an hour decant and another hour just passing time. Cherries, plums, and licorice. Initially just smooth, and then the flavors evolve. The finish lingers. Nice balance of acidity and tannins. There’s some more age out of this one. This does not drink like a second label.

Sep 17th, 2017Soooo reticent. We enjoyed this over three days, not because we wanted to but because we HAD to. If you are looking for immediate gratification, this wine AIN'T it. You enjoy this wine for the bright future ahead of it, and the wonderful family behind it.
Do yourself a favor and drink the Tanbark Hill while listening to a podcast where the Genius Mr. Togni explains his adventures in wine. A filet mignon and fingerling potatoes wouldn't be a bad idea either. Bordeaux class, California sunshine!

Aug 9th, 2017Scents of forest floor, pencil shavings, and violets support this wine's fine pallet of deep bramble notes, black cherries, forest dust, cocoa, and hints of licorice. Sticky, lasting tannins. Somewhat watery mouthfeel. A superb wine on its own; so much so that I almost don't want to pair it. Worth seeking out.

May 9th, 2017Spring Mtn north slope so not much sunlight single vineyard Cab. Intense and bit young. Wonderful with the venison with the mole butter. Great matching but neither the Napa style Cab nor the venison is my liking
