This was not an enjoyable bottle for me. I felt the alcohol and the flavors felt out of balance. Pear, apple, hints of citrus. Maybe it was a flawed bottle? Will try again tomorrow just in case.
Second night- added some complexity in the way of notes of minerality. Also some more mid palate density and an apricot sweetness I associate with higher alcohols. Maybe bump up a pint or two, but still nothing I’d want to try again.

2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted 30 mins and an hour post-decant. Yellow Chartreuse color. Beautiful vanilla/cinnamon Jeffrey pine at dawn nose. That flowed over into the flavors along with substantial mineral components. Showing great. Very enjoyable. 1.12.24.

Blockbuster chard, 2014 vintage in magnum at home. Wood not completely integrated. Vanilla, good minerality and good acidity. Close to a meursault. Definitively new world. High alcohol 14.6 pct.
