Jan 28th, 2018An excellent example of just how good Napa Bordeaux blends can be. The nose is subtle with hints of cassis, licorice and cigar box. Lots of fruit on the palate with tastes of blueberries, allspice, some earthiness, and a little licorice. The tannins have done their dance with the acidity and are unbelievably integrated and balanced. An outstanding wine.

Dec 13th, 2017Maybe had an off bottle. Kind of out of balance. Tons of saturated fruit but no acidity or tannins left. Had a fortified quality to it with too much syrupy Merlot dominating. 2001, not '07.

And we wind things down with this gem. Everything you could ask for in a premier cab - dark red fruits, vanilla, and even some truffle. Perfectly balanced after 2 hours of decanting by the expert staff at the French Laundry. Unforgettable experience.
