Took 2 hours to begin to open and show dried yellow apple, pear, and lemon peel. Oxidative aromas of roasted nut, light caramel, and roasted oolong. Butter. Perfect toast. Also fills out on the palate with time. Sweet fruit quality balanced by firm minerality, light tannin, and high acid. Medium plus finish. Drink now. Paired with Prosciutto and Lilli’s birthday month...

The color hasn't faded at all and is still a honeyed golden hue. Baked apple, honey, and pear dominate the nose with little autolytic character. The mousse dissipates fairly quickly. There is great fruit and a bit of mid-palate sweetness but it finishes fairly dry. So pleased Lauer is disgorging some of these nice old bottles.
