Nose is vanilla and spice over a melange of dark cherry and dried fruit. Velvety smooth tannins, warm finish. Just gorgeous.

Really well balanced black fruits, subdued acids and little oak. You can tell this was made from a younger generation, wanting the wine to speak for itself without too much manipulation. Thanks to the friends who brought it from the vineyard in Italy,.

The most open-knit. Can taste the ripe vintage. Deep core of fruit and firm tannins that give way to the juicy palate.

Ripe blackberries and fireplace embers on the nose, with definite chalky minerality. The tannins hit hard but in a good way! Great with cheese! I had it with a gorgonzola gnocchi, super pairing!

Vanilla, brown sugar, potting soil, and red cherry. Face ripping tannin that lingers for over a minute.

Fresh and exuberant. Raw tannic power balanced by tart and crisp acidity. Reminds me young Cornas and its energy.

Shut down and muted only to come around with 2+ hours of air. A dusty/mineral note amongst dark fruit and raw spice

Seems to have great potential. Multi-faceted with pronounced earthiness/umami notes. Want to revisit this the most. '09 is where those cinnamon/warm spice notes really began to become pronounced

Had the hardest time with this one. Elevated tannin presence and acidity. Closed somewhat. Apparently much better than previous experiences.
