The 2021 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is spicy with a bouquet of crushed woodland berries and flowery underbrush complicated by shaved cedar. It’s soothingly round and energetic, with cool-toned acidity and fresh red and blue fruits that swirl throughout. It leaves a subtle tinge of licorice and blackberry, only gently tannic, along with a hint of citrus that adds lovely depth. This is a perfect introduction to the Penner-Ash style. Is it just me or are these guys really stepping up their Pinot game? Excellent, rich, fine grained tannins.

2 years back this wasn’t even worth a post. Quite simple, angular. Now, with a bit of air, fresh and vibrant, almost silky and with a certain clarity of bing cherry, ripe strawberry. Tea. Nice.

Ruby with bouquet of berry fruit and herb floral notes, aged for 10 months on French oak. On the palate strawberry and black cherry flavors with sweet spice & earthy black tea tones. Fine rich soft tannins, long finish ending with earthy herbs, dried fruits and mineral tones.

My wife cellar is hell on burgundy bottle labels. But didn’t stop this Penner Ash from shining

Nice, dark flavors. Heavy for region and bottling. A PN for steak and better than its California counterparts who make wines of this style.
