Nov 1st, 2022Inky ruby. Cherry and red berries on the nose, along with a hint of cracked pepper. In a forward, elegant style, offering juicy cherry cola and red currant flavors that deepen with air. Discreet tannins frame the persistent, appealingly sweet finish, which features repeating red fruit and spice notes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2022)

Smells of. Plum skins
Medium weight, bright fruit, with some Tangy elements - fruit leatheresque.
Pleasant enough, it had all the elements to it, yet is lacking depth. A fine wine for a party - simple yet has enough to fit in as a background

A wine meant to be drunk young ish for sure.
Light nose of black currant
Ripe blackberry, lady grey tea, horehound and other like roots, thicker body, yet somehow not as rounded as it should be.
An okay wine for first night.
Happy Hanukkah friends - !

Gave this two hours to open open before pairing with beef tenderloin with mushrooms and a mustard sauce. Full and ripe with berries, cassis, and a faint tannic grip. Not complex and the finish was a bit short, but tasted good none the less.

Jul 15th, 2017So interesting how Cabernet Sauvignon can present throughout the world. Reviews on this are nor great! I guess if I am driven to a Napa Cab..big fruit, vanilla, cedar..(yes I love some of those)...it is easy to not lean to other expressions of CS!
This wine is medium bodied, lip smacking and crunchy is where the long finish is at! Showing..plum, blackberry and black cherry; yet the fruit isn't the star! Earth as in dark warm soil, minerals, vegetal greens, tobacco, dark bitter chocolate, iron ore maybe? A smooth wine with amazing nuances to decipher! Old World in style! My tastes are rating this as a 9.0? But I can see why rating on the Costco tent was listed as a 9.3 (Wine Spectator), a lot of layers of complexity, nothing offensive! A very different representation of CS. Decanted for three hours! Alc 14%..maybe that is why I am writing a book!
Update day two! Aromas of chocolate chip cookies! Taste has taken off exponentially as well! A very fun wine to explore!
