Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits with sweet earthy notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry & blueberry with hints of cacao and sweet oak. Well balanced with fine firm tannins and lively acidity. Long finish ending with oak, herb, mineral and earthy character. Will improve with short term aging, but don’t wait too long as you might be disappointed! Very nice Shiraz!

"a medium-bodied Shiraz, displaying generosity of fruit, a rich balanced flavors with a lingering finish". Loved drinking this beautiful, full of bold Tate Penfold's Shiraz.

at wset level 2 course (4th meeting)
2nd of a syrah couple.
new world and old world were the expected contenders.
this was the fruity one so my guess was Ozzie shiraz.
herbs, spice, blackberry and plum, vanilla and added smoke 👃
felt almost off dry but not...
medium acidity.
low tannins.
intense 👄 of mostly black fruits with hints of spice & herbs. even less oak.
medium finish.
i tasted a few other mid level penfolds not long ago, and like this one, no big impression was made.
