Koonunga Hill South Australia Shiraz Cabernet

Penfolds has been producing wines since 1844 and led the development of Australian fine wine in the modern era. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits with sweet notes. On the palate cherry and plum with cacao and vanilla spice. Firm grainy tannins, savory on a medium finish ending with nutty oaky notes. Tasting Sample.

Fine, nothing wrong with it, maybe the price/quality ratio. Expressive fruit, mostly dark, hints of Syrah like blood, blackberries, chocolate. Medium bodied, tamed tannins, easy, candy.

2016 Felipe Motta

I rarely like a Shiraz, but this was not as dry.

A good but young wine that needs to age 5 to 10 years. It has a full and deep richness to the flavor.

Not as good as the Shiraz

Slightly sharp, chocolate (hint) and cherry smell. Easy on palate, cherry and smokey (hint) taste. No tannin. Short (3s) aftertaste. Bit overpriced.

Black plum and sour cherry, medium tannin and good acidity, medium length. Great value from Australia.
