*Disclaimer I sell this wine* Day 3 of a sample, paired with a late leftover dinner of cast iron grilled boneless pork chop with polenta and a white wine gravy. Beautiful almost opaque ruby color, with a bright nose of violets. Lots of licorice, chocolate and deep red fruits on the palate, gripping tannins on the finish. A nice way to wrap up the week!

Apart from Produttori, i think it’s pretty tough to find a great barbaresco at the 20 euro price point. (If you can find produttori for under 25.) Maybe this example will integrate eventually but it’s very disjointed right now, and not too energetic either.

Tight and firm. Plums, nuts and black licorice on both the nose and pallet. Spicy and quite long on the finish. More reminiscent to me of a Barolo based on the body and style. (Not a criticism). Well integrated with gripping tannins. Might need a bit more bottle age. Looking forward to trying this one again in a few years. Thanks for the recommendation, Petey!

Minerals, holds onto the palate, I taste some dark make that see some dark fruits, good wine with some pizza.
