‘05 in ‘23. Color and depth to the edge. Good color. Blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry, cherry and leather on the nose. Deep and layered on the palate. Dense. Game. All mixed fruits. Beautiful wine.

Wow. So deep. But still a bit tight and bites down on the finish. The 2nd day hinted at the potential with a big open nose checking all the Syrah goodness boxes; flowers, smoked meats, etc. I'm going to wait a few years with my remaining bottles hoping to hit that perfect spot.

This was an unexpected surprise. @Mason Balistreri poured this beauty out for us.
Unreal juice. Incredibly complex. Initially Vanilla Coke but then morphs into a blueberry pie before settling down into a peppery smoked meat. Wild! Absolutely massive palate with all the textures and tannins. Has aged beautifully.

This 05 was ridiculously good. It is still young and fresh with tons of black fruit on the nose plus fresh coffee, saddle leather, and subtle dried herbs. Holy cow this is good. It will even continue to improve. Best 10 year old California Syrah I've had in years
