Last stop on day one in Sonoma was at Patz & Hall Winery. Second wine was their Chardonnay from the Ritchie Vineyard.

Light lemon yellow in appearance. Can smell the new oak on the nose with some layers of wax, peaches and a bit rich. Needs some time to balance out. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium plus body. Rich on palate too with oak, butter, candied peaches and lemon rind. Medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2024. $$

15' Patz & Hall Ritchie Chardonnay. Nice balance of acidity & new oak. Tones of crème brûlée & apple. Creamy textures... delicious acidity at its core. Still a very youthful Chardonnay @Shawn R Can't believe I haven't had this before. Thank you so very much for this amazing bottle. Shawn you rock!

For a chardonnay, i enjoyed this. Green apple, key lime. Complex…oaky, but smooth.

More delicate texture than I expected. Green apple, honeycomb, and lemon. Good oak adding some vanilla aroma.

This wine is very buttery, which I typically do not enjoy, but this wine is an exception.

Early peak at '15. Will be hard to beat This wine for P&H. Salty, concentrated. Oak is well integrated. Tons of lemon peel, lemon oil, brûlée, fresh flowers, and great structure. Will reorder.
