Dutton Ranch Chardonnay

Opulent. Buttered popcorn, lemon curd and asian pear with an oily mouth feel. Round. Maintaining some acid with a bitter note on the finish, pretty classic California Chardonnay flavor profile.

It has some oak but just enough IMHO.

Pale lemon color with aromas of ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and nutty scents. On the palate complex flavors of apple, peach, pineapple and lemon citrus, well balanced with acidity on a nice mouthfeel. Long finish ending with oak, vanilla, mineral and citrus notes, will continue to age. A beautiful Chardonnay. Pair this with a Red Snapper topped with a celery, tomato and olive compote.

Medium lemon with aromas of stone fruits, spice, floral and citrus adding some yeasty notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & apricot with lemon citrus zest, honeysuckle and nutty notes. Smooth, long finish, well balanced with lively acidity, ending with fruit, integrated and wet stone yeasty mineral character. Nice!

Been a while since enjoying a Patz & Hall Chardonnay. We served this with fresh crab from Oregon and the buttery compliments were just amazing. I love when a pairing is magical. Dutton Ranch continues to be a favorite vineyard.

P&H was founded in 1988 by industry professionals Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz. Aromas of fresh ripe stone fruits, honey, nutty and floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear and sweet pineapple with savory toasty oak tones. Lingering finish ends with creamy fruit and oaky mineral notes. A bit rounder than previous vintages. Wonderful.

Second of the blind white wines. Theme was new world Chardonnay.

Clear and pale golden yellow. A little chalky on the nose with lemon, minerality and green apples. Rich and buttery on the palate with sharp acidity (6.5/10) and medium body. Seems to have some oak in it and notes of almonds, green apples and lemon curd. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2025.

Apple, lemon curd, honey, cedar, dried apricot and oak. Great acidity and balance.

Found another '14 bottle, continuing to develop nicely. Bright straw yellow with aromas of fresh fruit, stone fruits and citrus with floral notes. On the palate, complex flavors, full and rich with peach, green apple, mango and vanilla spice. The wine had a soft mineral taste with nutty toasty oak, noting that the wine sat on French oak, (40% new). The finish was smooth with great texture and balance, time in the cellar will add benefit, an outstanding offering from Patz & Hall.

2015. Bright, fresh aromas. Elegant play between delightful body and refreshing acid. Tiniest whisper of oak. Delicious.
