Amber tawny color, similar to the 97 Giacosa next to it. Old Barolo nose. Notes of old rose petals, anise, asphalt, some molasses. Nice mouth feel, still has a strong backbone with appropriate acidity. A little musty but not in a bad way. Pretty good tonight.

Nov 18th, 2022Decanted for 4 hours and consumed over the next 3. Dark tawny, almost opaque. Bright Barolo nose. Notes of ripe cherry, red roses, some anise, some tea, a hint of black tar and some wood. Dry and acidic in the mouth. The nose is the beauty of this wine. For the future, it’s questionable if the fruit will last long enough to wait for the acidity to soften enough.
