Barolo Nebbiolo
Medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and new leather notes, fruit sources from several vineyard sites. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum fruits with tobacco and pepper spice. Firm chewy tannins, savory on a medium+ finish ending with notes of oak, mineral and earthy character. Drinking well now, good value.

Feb 23rd, 2022Nose has summer roses, dried raspberry, wet leather, cherry pipe tobacco and old woodshop dust.
Palate has fresh raspberry, dried raspberry, dried cherry, old licorice with strong, dusty tannins. Decanted +10h and this wine is still a beast, I thought it would be, but wanted a progress check.
Paired to a long and slow cooked Bolognese sauce over Pappardelle. The wine worked well with the dish, albeit youthful. We're breaking our rule of 20Y min. on Barolo tonight. (I can't wait to drink the 2016's in 2036+, I hope I can still taste wine then...🤪 and maybe Delectable will provide an Android update in that timeframe.)
(Interesting post dinner note, enjoying the wine with dark chocolate covered caramel with sea salt and we're pulling a fun blueberry trait on the palate.)

Dec 20th, 2020Had after the Roillette Beaujolais, so had a medium decant which served it well-edges have softened. Faded tar & hibiscus nose, black & red fruited, & all about accessibility: as the entry level Barolo, makes sense, I’d even dare to say this plus another two years is the window, but I ain’t no Barolo expert.
