Nose has sappy, ripe but slightly tart dark cherry, and a beautiful almost Burgundian gravel thing. A wee bit of baking spice. Tannic and youthful in the mouth. This needs a couple of years at least. Very Cotes de Nuits in style. Very nice length and a savory style. Was OK with Thanksgiving turkey, but the turkey accentuated the tannin. This needs beef (prime rib!) to shine.

Nov 23rd, 2018Fragrant right out of the gate, but really develops over time. Nose has juicy cherry and raspberry fruit, some delicate gravelly notes and a wisp of high-toned smoke. Intense and still very youthful and primary on the mouth. It’s got zero flab however, and a zingy line of acidity. Still some tight, youthful tannin. This needs 2-3 years to develop the complexity that is clearly lurking within , but really enjoyable right now. Very well done.
