Opened and poured into a decanter about an hour before service; no formal notes. This is only my second experience with Padelletti which, continues to be somewhat elusive here in middle-America. Based on my previous experience, I expected this to be very traditional (and it was) but I also expected this to show more of the hallmarks of 2015. Instead, it had a similar elegance and austerity that I recollected from the 2012 that I enjoyed several years back. The quality is certainly there however, it is somewhat reticent and really made me work for it. Be careful not to pair this with fare that’s too heavy. This is a wine to sit with; to ponder. If I had another bottle, I would hold for another 5+ before enjoying again.

Very fresh style of BdM. Bright ruby, and drinking much younger than expected. Crowd pleaser. Will follow thru day 2.

Jul 18th, 2021Popped and poured. Bright ruby in the glass. Fresh cherries, dried herbs and leather on the nose. Bright cherries, black tea and leather on the palate. Light and lean but impeccably polished. Definitely more on the elegant side of BdM. My first Padelletti and I’m sufficiently intrigued to seek out more.

Unknown to me. Apparently they didn't sell in the US back then. Acquired through a private cellar by the owner. Fantastic stuff. mature but still with plenty of youthful fruit. Great opaque ruby color. Just a hint of tertiary/sous bois on the finish.

This was a lovely wine with a lot of life left. Dense almost stewed fruit flavors and noticeable tannins.

Holy cow! 2012 is the year and this bottle is my first from this vineyard. Earthy nose with a white pepper finish. Will seek out more and maybe 2013 too
