Like Chassagne/Meursault meets Northern Rhone ~ intense, rich & tropical, full volume yet finishes mineral & spice dry

OMG... this is a balls-to-the-wall kind of a wine...
Very opulent, lots of alcohol, thick and creamy, confident and convincing clods of coconut oil, vanilla bean, grilled pine apple, peach yoghurt, honey glazed pastry and those heartwarming scents of Bourbon.
Yes, this is as obtrusive and cheeky as it sounds. And yet... somehow... it works. RP scores 96/100.... don’t see that. But, when served slightly chilled, I like it a lot!
The label says California chardonnay and that’s partially true. 70% Chardonnay indeed. The remainder of the blend (Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc and even Muscat) gives this wine its unmistakably Rhône-esque personality.

Sipping Fine Wine

A 6 grape blend (76% Chardonnay) aged in 40% new French oak for 11 months. The grapes were sourced from several northern California regions including Napa Carneros and Sonoma Coast. Deep straw yellow with aromas of tropical fruits and sweet spice. The palate shows flavors of pineapple, melon, apple and hints of lemon rind with complex spice. The wine is well balanced with integrated oak, crisp, lively acidity and ends with a long finish. Very nice alternative to the 100% California Chardonnay!
