From 100% Viura grapes, indigenous to Rioja, aged 4 months in American oak, medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with pronounced floral and biscuit notes. On the palate flavors of peach and ripe lemon citrus with honeysuckle and smoky notes. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, citrus and toasty oak. Nice value.

A few days late in posting the Wednesday Wine Committee wines. Standard format with 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All served blind.
Zero frame of reference for this as I’ve never had a white wine like this. It started off with a slight hint of petrol, and a dense and rich mid palate full of bruised pear and lychee but had zero acidity. Petrol blew off with more time in the glass. I guessed Alsatian Pinot Gris.

Basic bitch Rioja Blanca. Clean and tidy, nice fruit on the palate. Flinty, saline nose. Short finish. Ideal poolside.
