The 2015 Valtellina Superiore Le Tense Sassella is racy and expansive on the palate. Hints of sweet tobacco, mint, licorice and macerated cherries all develop in the glass. The aromatics are so striking, but the 2015 will clearly benefit from a bit more time in bottle, which it needs to come together. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2020)

Definitely Valtellina. Big producer in the area, so I had lower expectations... but the wine was lovely. Soft, expressive, ample acidity, sweet spices. Would buy again. SommSelect 2018.

Richly textured & full bodied. Ruby red color, tawny hues. Tar, violets, cloves. Dry & firm. Toasted almonds.

Rich chokecherry syrup nose with an earthy undertone. Dusty cherry, leather, and crushed rocks in the mouth. Fair amount of fine-grained tannin. Nice!
