Not feeling this, initially. Then...

Upping my score cos I took another look on day 2. It gained a little more weight, and showed a little more urgency on the palate. Nice mature raspberries and coffee notes, and a sweet finish.

Round and a touch flabby. Not very interesting to be honest. That being said, it’s a decent enough wine and fun to drink for the occasion.

Just starting to open up, this Oak Knoll Merlot is medium bodied that couples bright red fruits with darker notes of spiced cocoa and even some tobacco.

Very good but surprisingly not as great as expected. Might get more interesting with time. The other Merlots seemed more interesting.

Fantastic Oak Knoll Merlot. Nice nose of red currant, chocolate and toasty oak backed by great structure and acidity.

Dark purple color. Aromas of dark cherry, plum, vanilla, violet and roasted red pepper. Bright and juicy red fruit along with that prevalent vanilla on the pallet. Hints of black olives and herbs. Nice mouth watering acidity. Smooth tannins. Just a touch of sour red fruit on the finish. Quite plush, savory, complex and interesting.
