Certainly more old world than new - very much more like a Cornas than any other southern hemisphere syrah I have had - dark cherries, tobacco and restrained oak/tannins.

People say it's un-new worldy like that's a good thing : ( Not what I look for in a South African wine. Hollow in the center, not enough oomph. Nice spice though. But not much to grab onto. Too subtle.
