This seems a bit “made” and is much better on day 2. Nose has tiny berry fruits and tons of minerals. A talcum powder effect. Floral and foresty. Really aromatic and complex. Very beguiling and unique nose. Palate is a bit dopey, young and very concentrated. Great a balance and freshness. Lovely texture and length but seems like it’s s bit ambitious and less authentic. It’s obviously a very good wine but seems forced I’d say.

One of Roland Velichs top single vineyard wines. The 2013 shows so much potential under the surface. Red & black fruit paired with tons of herbs, soil and mineral notes. Nearly perfect example of elegant power. Velich said he always is looking for the Balance in the wines.

I can imagine a Blaufränkisch made by #bedrockmorgan being fashioned in this direction; intensely flavored, rich and pretty wild, yet under strict control.
