Italy here I come! Really needed a profound Sangiovese to move me. And this bottle did. With goose and terroni. Luckily they had an 06. Perfect vintage in perfect condition. The elegant side of Italy but with all that rustic goodness.

Medium ruby , quite wide but healthy rim. Lovely dried red fruits , cranberry , raspberry , touches of dried herbs . Quite mineral and serious also after a while . On the palate , more red fruits, touch of black tea , dried Provençal herbs , really vibrant acidity , quite ripe but fine and noticeable tannins . Very good length with a refreshing vibrant finish . This is drinking well now , especially with time in the glass , will probably still improve over the next 5 or so years and hold for a further 5-10.
