Beautiful oaky red, nogal color with low to medium transparency. Awesome nose, very expressive; you receive your reward right there, with abundant dark cherry aromas, hints of strawberries, allspice, a bit of cow manure, really very subtle, and hints of truffles. Enters decisively on the palate as well, with gorgeous and classic pinot noir character. Blindly, this would be a given. Young, with vibrant fruit, and delicious flavors of dark cherries, dark soil, clove, mushroom, dark cherry cola, hints of malt, showing good acidity, fairly long structure for a Pinot, and evolving into a toasted almond flavor finish. Quite chewable. Too young, vibrant and lush to be Burgundy, however, educated enough and in character to make you remember Burgundy. Very pleasant wine. Can or should cellar for 2 to 4 years. Very pleasant wine. 88 pts.
