Monte Rio Cellars
River's Edge Lodi Sangiovese

Might just be the most balanced and elegant Lodi red I’ve ever had. Tart cherries and wild summer herbs.

Not bad; tart cherry, savory herbs. Needed a few to show.

Well this is a great find. Great QPR at ~$22. Silkier tannins than many Tuscan Sangioveses. Similar chalky profile but more bright red fruit like strawberry without being jammy.

Apr 27th, 2023Another nice red from Monte Rio, great value for the price point, more complex and robust, nice with a lamb dinner.

I love acidic wine but this is too much. Almost undrinkable by itself. Food takes the edge off. Slightly. Improved after a couple days in the fridge.
