Initially intensely bretty even evoking a thought it could be flawed. But with a sufficient decant it unfurls to reveal dark fruit, significant sous bois, dried violets and minerals. There is good complexity and layers but it’s a bit out of balance and doesn’t have the concentration and Grand Cru intensity you expect both from the vineyard and from the vintage. It seems to be aging rather quickly, and drank older than it should, but still enjoyable.

Whoa. Meaty and rich, with forest floor, sour cherry, and dusty mineral rich rocks. Roasted meat juices, savory herbs, freshwater creek stones. Really elegant and layered. Grand cru fruit shines.

Awkward nose and palate. Cardboard elements dominate.

Out of magnum, original owner cellar. Surprisingly good, no 1990 ripeness sous bois, complex and on the young side. Underrated producer in my opinion.
