Dark ruby. Opened with a very oaked presence. A bit tannic. As the night wore on, the wine blossomed into a merlot led experience as one would anticipate from this blend. Dark cherry and cigar box found its way to the top. Next time, I would decant for a few hours. Even @ 1/2 off night, this was a bit overpriced for what it delivered.

Had this in a line up of the 40+$ crowd of BC wines and considering it was 2x the price of every other wine in the 10+ (blind) line up it should have performed better. Very over ripe Merlot flavours bruised and lacking vibrancy and freshness. Imagine all of the 100+$ wines In The world you can buy!! This is prob a 20$ wine in a heavy package.

Still has some time maybe 3-5 years if you like older smelling wines. The fruit was still quite fresh and the tannins still had some bite. Great wine!

The 2006 was not cheap back then but compared to the price of current vintages it was an absolute steal! Winemaker John Simes signed the bottle and we were sorry to see it go but it was time to drink up. Polished, sleek and very well put together! Black as pitch, red fruit and plums with a lovely whiff of violets, the palate was redolent with black fruit flavours and silky smooth tannin. A lovely Bordeaux blend from the sunny Okanagan!

Bold, powerful red Bordeaux style blend. Merlot 53%, Cab Sav 23%, Cab Franc 22%, Petit Verdot 4%. Dark cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate. There are strong notes of black pepper, peppercorn and tobacco mixed with old fine leather. Aged for 14 months in small French barrels and 15 months in bottle. 79 barrels produced. This definitely needs 2hrs to decant, and will continue to blossom as the night progresses. Had some early sips after an hour, and an hour and a half of decanting and the tannins still needed time to settle.
