Respectable, but I wasn't liking this. Too much licorice and cola for Bordeaux blend.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This afternoon we open the 2012 Miner The Oracle Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot. Still at this young age needs some time to open up.

On the nose there is good black fruit, black cherry, raspberry, black currant, eucalyptus, mint, cocoa and a bit of minerality.

On the palate, the black fruit comes through with notes of black raspberry, black cherry, black currant, eucalyptus, dark rich soil and a good mineral play.

The wine is medium bodied, medium to + acidity, medium + rounded tannins with a medium to long finish. A nice well blended wine that has 5-10 years to go in bottle. I hope everyone got enough to eat and enjoyed the day with loved ones. Please continue your weekend enjoying family and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Miner's single-vineyard flagship has all the goods but comes across as more of the same so I have a hard time getting excited about this wine.

Having said that, the fruit is brooding, there's licorice, depth and gravitas, and restrained use of oak. A California Cab, tried and true.

For the flagship Miner bottle, this is an absolute joke, would rather drink some black box Cab, this is a joke I can’t believe I waited so long to drink this

Definitely needs more time on the shelf. Lots of bright cherry on the nose with hints of honey and mint. Lingering finish with more acid than I was expecting. This would pair well like a Chianti would with food. Still young to drink on its own but if you like it, drink it. This would be great with any red sauce dishes and pizza. 14.4%

Some spice . Light acids. Not fruity. Hangs on the palate though. Nice wine with pasta, meat and a full fish.

A well balanced Cali Cab blend. Medium mouthfeel. Moderately sticky tannins after an hour of opening. Complex pallet of black cherry and blackberry that subsides into cocoa, herbs, and oak. Subtle hints of dust and leather. Pleasant nose of dark fruits. Chosen based on priors: Miner Pinot Noir is excellent. Cab is in the same league, but more expensive.

Absolutely splendid. After it opens up nice fruit with a firm structure and long finish. #2GU #MiniWineReview
