Domaine du Clos du Fief Juliénas Gamay

From 100% Gamay, 60+ year old vines, grown in thin volcanic soils, medium Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruits and spices. On the palate flavors of bright cherry and raspberry, spice, floral and a hit of banana. Fine soft tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and spice, nice!

Traditional 100% Gamay coming from a Vineyard by the hills with a stony clay soil on shallow blue stones, manually harvested from vines averaging +50 years. A wine made in very small quantities (around 2500 bottles per harvest).
Plummy, dark prunes, red fruit marmalade, delicate acidity, a more fruit-forward styled Gamay on both nose and palate. Very long finish with medium tannins and a bit of rich at the very end. Can even be paired with lean and shredded beef in red sauces.
