Michael David Winery
Earthquake Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and cacao with toasty notes, well balanced. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, sweet spice and earthy toasty character.

Oct 14th, 2022A nice big, bold wine but also smooth and full of fruit. Love it!

Aug 24th, 2022Time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time I'm doubling up...
Deep purple/Inky in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, chocolate cake, dark coffee, mocha, earth, cola, spice box and peppercorn.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Extra fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked strawberries, spices, pencil lead, leather, licorice, vanilla, cedar, chocolates, tobacco, mocha coke, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.
This Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi is always enjoyable. Well balanced and complex. Fruity with enough acidity to balance it out. This 3 year old is drinking very nicely now.
15% alcohol by volume.

5 people found it helpfulOct 2nd, 2014Keeping with the trend of Michael David wines (and the Earthquake name) this is a very bold, fruit forward Cabernet that is designed to grab you attention. Cranberries on the nose and palate, smooth and plenty of punch. This is not a smooth, subtle, deeply complex wine. But is to Cab Sav what America has done to IPA. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
