This is the “ San Teodoro” cuvée. 100% Nerello Mascalese. Light, fragrant, balanced. Interesting flavors of bright cherry and mineral. It’s hard to find nice, lighter reds, and I find myself frequently cooking things that call for a lighter red

This Etna Rosso, made from only Nerello mascalese, is clear bright red with watery rim; nose of small red cherries, unripe strawberries, oregano, and thyme; acids are high and the tannins fine, the structure is dry and mouthfilling, elegant redfruited, and a clear but well-integrated oakiness lingers on the finish.

Some say Nerello Mascalese is like a combination of Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. In this case I’d say it’s all Pinot-characteristics that dominate. Sweet scent. Alot of ripe berries, cinnamon, nougat, black tea and a juicy texture. A fair share of french oak here, but not in a negative way.
