Masi
50 Campofiorin Rosso Verona Corvina Blend
Musty nose,
A touch of Brett, fig, olive, tar, tarragon, basil.
This has a lot going on with it, with arms noodling in every direction of a tasting wheel.
Persimmon acids and gritty, grainy tannins. A classics Veneto wine, in past vintages, this really showed the appassimento style, with bitter sweet overtones, it’s been a while since this has reflected that.

After 50 vintages Masi has nailed this unique style of Ripasso. Elegant with a silky texture, bright fruit and good length this is a lively wine with meat, pasta and cheese

Feb 5th, 2018I buy this wine quite often. Easy drinking pizza night wine. Usually delivers. This bottle, not so good. Looks unfiltered compared to the older vintages. Plenty going on, but it could just be a bad bottle. 5 more in the cellar.

Deep red with full ripe black and red fruit aromas. This Ripasso style wine offers intense flavors of blackberry jam and cherry with sweet vanilla, and cinnamon spice notes. Soft chewy tannins, lingering finish ending with a raisin fruit character. Very Nice. Tasting Sample.

Oct 22nd, 2020Great Italian wine. Smooth and light. Great with heavy dishes as it doesn't take over the dinner, but accompany it with grace.
