Found a ‘15, still mediocre, no aging benefit. Made from 40-year old vines in Cruz de Piedra, berry and spicy nose. Cherry and tart plum flavors with off spice notes. Racy tannins but approachable. Needs a big food dish. Drink now!

Very full bodied, tannin heavy, good with steak.

Not a full body Cab but drinkable. Needs to be aerated prior to consumption, otherwise very tart. Better with food.

Big fruit — red cherry, currants, blackberries, and plums. Plenty of black pepper and other spicy notes. Intense acidity and somewhat flabby tannins make for an odd combination. Not quite working for me, but could be decent against a flavorful roasted meat dish.

Disappointing, even on chili night.

This Cab is very aromatic which is a definite plus, however, it seems a bit “sour” and out of balance. For this reason I cannot see myself purchasing another bottle. Perhaps the next vintage will be better. *had to increase my rating a tad because it held up for 3 nights and paired quite nicely with spaghetti bolognese. This is more of a food wine rather that a solo sipper.

Dark red color. Aromas and flavors of blackberry and raspberry jam, leather, cedar, and stone. Medium-bodied with full tannins. Not as heavy or concentrated as California cabs. Exemplary of cedar notes. From wine tasting at Total Wine & More.
