Organic Les Baux-de-Provence Grenache Blend

Mostly Grenache, this blend also brings Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan to the glass. Light and bright red fruits on the nose open gracefully onto the palate. Although from Provence, the Les Beaux de Provence comes across more like a Cote du Rhone that’s easy to talk to. It’s a graceful & tasteful little find, south of $20.

A favorite for decades, I just love this wine. Perfumey and fragrant, with deep floral notes, turned earth, sappy dark berries, incense, spice. On the palate it’s less unctuous than the nose suggests, and more linear. A tad reserved initially, but then the deep concentration and length kick in. Very savory flavors. A vibrancy echoes on the finish. One of the best renditions I can remember.

2022. And old friend. Fresh and inviting. A little more perfumed than Côtes du Rhônes.

Dry, medium body, acidity, and alcohol. Floral, red cherry, and earthy nose. Earthy, cherry, and plum flavors. Floral, lavender, mineral, hint of graphite. Medium+ finish.
