Surprisingly exceeded expectations. Not sure it is worth the $80 price tag but very good. Opened up nicely after 30 min decant.

Deep garnet with some ruby hues. A little green on the nose to start with some chili. Opened up with some a little floral, chalk, damp forest floor and some leaves. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Layers on the palate of cassis, black currants, cigar box, a little earthiness and vegetal. Long finish. Seems a touch older than an 1999. Drink till 2020.

Napa cab 4 of 8. A bruiser. Well made but too big for me. 14.8% alcohol.

14.1 % alc.
A very nice wine from an over-looked vintage in northern CA.
Fading in the glass after 1 hour so it is time to drink up.

Corned beef and old Cabernet? Why not? Aromas of wet wood and earth and tar and hot leather open into autumnal and dried fruit notes. Very deep and smoky on the palate with layers of old wood and sour cherries. Tobacco and soot on the finish. Very old world; let's see what some aeration does...

Elegant, with great loft and focus. Floral cassis fruit, dusted with chocolate, with well integrated subtle oak.
