Blend of Tempranillo (90%), Graciano (8%) and Mazuelo (2%). Dark black cherry color. Dark fruit aromas with notes of tobacco, spices, coconut and oak. Pallet is velvety with flavors of black cherry/berry, milk chocolate and vanilla. Dusty (yet firm) tannins and a long smooth and smokey finish. Quite elegant.

Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry , ripe plum, vanilla, forest floor, oak, leather, spice, chocolate. On the palate, full bodied and elegant. Complex with an Extensive finish. Cherry, dark berry, vanilla, balsamic, spice, oak, then chocolate takes over.

Barnyard funk on open. Soily. Wet leather. Needs time to expand. Time that I didn't afford it. Quite better than my last time with this. 2012 vintage offers more weight and heft. Very good.

Deep, clear garnet red. Ethereal, balsamic nose with a delicate vanilla touch; red meat. A little warmer, the alcohol of 14.5% is noticeable. Fine sandy, smooth tannins combined with a medium plus acidity and a medium body give a wonderful structure. The wood is almost perfectly integrated. Aromatic a melange of cherry marzipan, balsamic notes, laurel, dark berry fruits, plums, milk coffee and a nice extract sweetness. In the rear part of the palate and in the finish with delicate bitter notes, reminiscent of cherry pits and supporting the structure - until the beautiful long finish. This Gran Reserva has all the qualities for a long life - structure, density, juiciness and balance.

Was expecting it to be more full bodied but I also did not let it decant which could be part of the issue.
