Reserva Finca Ygay Rioja Tempranillo Blend
This evening I opened the 2018 Marqués de Murrieta Finca Ygay Reserva Rioja. This is a blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 4% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha.
On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, anise, potpourri, black pepper, baking spice, cedar box and dusty dry earth.
On the palate I find raspberry, cherry, black pepper, tomato, balsamic, red currant, olive and nice earth.
This is a medium bodied wine a smooth velvety mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + fine supple tannins which seamlessly moves into a long red fruit anise finish. Let's everyone have a wonderful relaxing weekend. Please as always stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Medium complexity. Needs ~three years in the cellar to unwind a bit but this is good juice.

2018 vintage. A tad tight but for the $17 resto cost from the distributor, we'll suck it up. Really nice value and you could do a lot worse in Reserva Rioja land. 3.6.24.

Mar 6th, 2024Medium body, medium + acidity and smooth tannins. Dark cherry flavors at first glass. After hour of decanting it has flavors of leather, earth, cherry and a hint of dark chocolate. Great price.
