Tasty and dusty, late season ripe raspberry, blueberry and chocolate; finish runs about 2 minutes.

48hr Update: Nose is intense mocha cherry, palate is still beautiful. Suggest a 24 hour decant on future bottles, much better experience.

OMG crazy good, just classic and aging well, smoky red fruit, subtle spice and oak, the color is browning but the nose is still quite bright. Wish the tannins were a little firmer but still some grip. This is a wine to appreciate but not sure it gets better with age.

Intensely aromatic. Black cherry, sweet and sour plum, cedar strips, black tea, graphite, toasted cardamom, and toasted vanilla pod. Palate coating and quite rich, this wine is not showing the slightest bit of oxidative character.

An amazing example of how well Rioja ages... Licorice, black cherry, wet forest floor, tobacco, tar and a never ending finish.

Amazing bing cherry. So smooth. This beauty is not showing her age.

This bottle just proves to me that rioja with at least some age goes best with charred filets and ribeyes, which is what we are having tonight. Upon opening I noticed a lovely floral character to the nose that followed after being poured into the glass. The rest of the nose had intense cigar box aromatics along with dusty red fruits and lilac florals. After an hour the floral notes take over and some semisweet chocolate also emerges. The palate still has tannins but a long, smoky finish that I can't help but enjoy. Amazing rioja. Amazing wine.

Outstanding wine with notes of smoke, tobacco, stewed raspberries, mushroom, dill, and coffee. Supple, velvety tannins. Still vivid and expressive. #wine #rioja #spain #granreserva
