Jul 14th, 2017After having a Markham wine last week for the first time in a while, I remembered I had an older cab vintage resting and decided after many years it was time to release it from its confines. Like I mentioned before, Markham has great value wines across the board. Their Estate wines are no different, and have an awesome charity story behind them.
As for this '09 cab, it has that lovely diluted purple hue, light ring upon hitting the glass. Had a bit of a cab franc green pepper/rubber nose at first, but it calmed down and sang of cranberries of raspberries. Oak was very subtle on the tongue. Raisins, fig and baking spices were well integrated. This is in its prime...3 years left until that window begins closing.
