The 2019 Siepi continues a trend towards greater finesse and nuance in this wine. Crème de cassis, lavender, spice, licorice and plum meld together effortlessly in the glass. Dense and layered, with striking detail, the 2019 is so impressive. The flavors are bright, bold and punchy. An exceptionally beautiful and riveting wine, the 2019 is rich and concentrated, but not at all heavy. What a total knock-out. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021)

Vintage 2012 | cherries, expressive smell, spicyness, earthy wine with a lot of tension and beautiful high acidity. Paired with beef tenderloin.

A superb Siepi, drier than I recall from last one, and more elegantly structured. Dry red fruit and a charred earth character that worked for me. Drink or hold. Il Pastaio is one of the rare Beverly Hills eateries worthy of the hype, and this was a great match for their awesome black truffle pastas.

One of the extra bottles from the Jack Winery and ARNYCA Cellars tasting last night with Steve Distler.

Deep purplish red with ruby edges. Well balanced nose with layers of earth, red currants, tobacco, damp earth and a touch floral. Medium dry tannins (6/10) with a medium plus body. Quite a bit of acidity with bramble, black currants, cherries and earthiness. Long finish. Drink till 2024.

Pretty. Bright, aromatic. Suspiciously dark. Bitter, harsh phenolics.

Fantastic aromas and flavors of balsamic and dried cherries with a layer of autumn leaves. Great finish that still shows bright acids firm tannins and chocolate covered fruit notes.
